Govt Chewing Over Food Plantation Rule

The Ministry of Agriculture plans to change land use and limit foreign ownership in a new regulation on staple food production outside the island of Java, a senior ministry official said. Sutarto Alimoeso, the ministry’s director general of food crops, said the revisions - necessary to reduce the potential for future disputes - could further delay plans to issue the regulation .

China to hold business seminars in Indonesia

Delegates from China Secretariat for ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) will hold a series of seminar in Indonesia aims at luring local companies to participate in the upcoming trade and industrial exhibition in Nanning, China. Kompas.com reported Sunday the CAEXPO will hold the seminars between June 7 and June 12, three of which will be held at Hotel JW Marriot on June 9, Hotel Borobudur on June 10 and Hotel Bali on June 11.
