ADB invests 140 million dollars in Indonesia`s infrastructure

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Asian Development Bank (ADB) had approved of an investment up to 140 million US dollars as an Indonesian Infrastructure Financing Facility (IIFF) with government support to help develop infrastructure projects in Indonesia. Possible investment outcomes from Indonesia's polls

JAKARTA (Reuters) - Indonesia holds parliamentary elections on April 9. The outcome will determine who runs in the more important presidential poll on July 8 and influence how Southeast Asia's biggest economy performs in the next five years. President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's Democrat Party is in the lead in the opinion polls, but it may still need the support of other parties in parliament. Yudhoyono himself is well ahead of his main rival, Megawati Sukarnoputri, for the presidency.

7-Eleven to Enter Market; Small Vendors Alarmed

The logo of yet another convenience-store chain will soon be strewn throughout Jakarta, with Dallas-based 7-Eleven, Inc., the world’s largest convenience store firm, announcing on Tuesday it plans to expand its ubiquitous franchise into Indonesia. The entry of 7-Eleven, which has 36,000 existing stores worldwide, has been long in the planning.
