Four foreign countries interested to take part in Indonesia's power development: official
Prominent power firm and lenders from Russia, Japan, Kuwait and Germany have pledged their interests to take part in Indonesia's huge power plant projects expected to commence next year, a local media report said Saturday. Fahmi Mohtar, Director of Indonesian state-run power firm, PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), conveyed that he had received representatives of those power firms who conveyed their interests, according to the Detik.com.

Imported Chinese products becoming threat to local industries
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Imported Chinese products which have been flooding Indonesian markets can cause local people-based industries to close down, a retail traders advocacy activist said. "In the 1970s, Indonesia only imported from China products that could not yet be produced at home, but now all kinds of Chinese products have entered Indonesian markets," Hermawi M Taslim, director of the Indonesian Advocacy and Retail Consultation centre, said here Saturday.

Cosmetic, Jamu producers want ASEAN-China free trade posptoned
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian cosmetic and jamu (herbal medicine) producers are calling for a postponement of the Asean-China free trade agreement for their products. "We want the implementation of the Asean-China FTA postponed until there is a strict supervisory system on cosmetics and jamu imports, especially those from China," Putri K Wardani, chairperson of the industrial section of the Indonesian Cosmetic Producers Association (Perkosmi), said here Saturday.

Tourism may see 1.3 pct growth: Official
Sukadana (ANTARA News) - Indonesia`s tourism sector could record a 1.31 percent growth in the midst of economic recovery efforts following the global crisis this year, a tourism ministry official said. "Up to October 2009, the world was suffering from a global crisis affecting all sectors including tourism," an expert staff for economic affairs, science and technology of the ministry of tourism, Titin Sukarya, said here on Saturday.
