First Media begins building WiMAX BTS
Nani Afrida, The Jakarta Post, Jakarta PT First Media, the broadband multimedia service provider from the Lippo Group, has built four of 10 base transceiver stations (BTS) for WiMAX broadband wireless access after winning a license in August. "The towers, built in Jakarta and *the satellite cities of* Depok, Bekasi, Bogor and Tangerang, will be in operation soon," First Media corporate secretary Harianda Noerlan told The Jakarta Post on Friday.

China to invest in RI infrastructure development
Singapore(ANTARA News) - Chinese President Hu Jintao has promised that his country would invest in electricity and infrastructure development in Indonesia. Industry Minister M Hidayat made the statement here on Saturday as he was asked about the result of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono`s bilateral meeting with Hu Jintao in Singapore on Friday evening.

Govt to make country world`s biggest palmoil producer
Yogyakarta (ANTARA News) - Agriculture Minister Suswono said here on Saturday the government would continue to strive to make Indonesia the world`s biggest palmoil producer. "Palmoil is one of the commodities the state is relying on for foreign exchange income. So far the commodity has contributed a lot in increasing the state`s foreign exchange reserves," he said. He said the country`s palmoil exports in 2007 reached US$8.87 billion and they rose up 39.5 percent or US$12.38 billion in 2008.
