Saudi proposes joint investment promotion initiative to RI
A Saudi investor has proposed Indonesia and Saudi set up a joint promotion company to increase investment in both countries. According to the chairman of the Global Unions Company of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Khalid S. Al Musa, the proposed body would promote investment projects. He said the joint company would also serve as a consultant, and that Saudi Arabia was ready to conduct a feasibility study on its establishment.

House can now summon anybody involved in oil industry, trade : legislator
Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - By deciding to use its right of inquiry on the government`s fuel oil pricing policy, the House of Representatives (DPR) can now summon anyone involved in the production, distribution and consumption of fuel oils for questioning, one of the legislators behind the initiative said. Ario Bimo, a member of the Indonesian Demcoracy Party-Struggle (PDI-P) faction in the House explained the significance of the House`s initiative here on Wednesday.

Visitor arrivals in Singapore up 0.8 pct in May, Indonesians lead the numbers
Singapore (ANTARA News) - Visitor arrivals in Singapore rose 0.8 percent to 828,000 in May from a year earlier, a record for the month, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) said on Friday. Tourists paid 28.2 percent more for hotels compared to a year earlier, with the average room rate at S$249, but the average occupancy rate dropped 3.5 percentage points to 82 percent.

Japan to cut import duties on 80 pct tariff posts for Indonesia
Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - The Japanese government will cut its import duties on 80 percent of tariff posts of goods from Indonesia beginning July 1, 2008, as part of the implementation of the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between the two countries, Indonesian Trade Minister Mari Elka Pangestu said. Saudi investors ready to invest $2 B in RI`s Agroindustry
Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - Eight Saudi large companies have set aside US$2 billion to develop Indonesia`s agroindustry, a Saudi executive said. "Saudi Arabia has allocated huge funds for investment in the agroindustry. Eight Saudi companies are ready to cooperate with Indonesian partners which are serious in establishing such cooperation," Chairman of Saudi Arabia`s Global Unions Company Khalid S Al-Musa said at the Indonesia-Middle East Business Forum here on Thursday.
