True enough. They are divvying up the remaining forested areas in Papua using a complex formula of seats in the DPR plus money politics minus sexual scandals for concessions to convert to palm oil production areas. Of course the palm oil will be used for biofuels but that is beside the point.

Jakarta has slipped four places in an annual survey of 215 cities worldwide, now placing a lowly 146 among the shittiest places to live.

Govt issues guidelines to determine renewable energy electricity prices
The government has issued a regulation setting benchmarks for electricity production costs in 13 regions to guide state power firm PLN in its pricing of electricity generated by renewable energy sources. Director general of electricity and energy utilization at the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry J. Purwono said benchmarks would be calculated separately for each region based on production costs of their respective conventional fuel powered plants.

Contrary to previous agricultural reports, certain regions in Indonesia may be ideal for wheat production. Indonesia has at least 1.5 million hectares of land located in a cool and dry region that may allow wheat cultivation. "The high altitude lands in Nusa Tenggara Timur, with its seasonal dry winds from Australia, are the most ideal for wheat production," said Risda Yulita, a expert from the Agricultural Ministry, on Tuesday.
