Asmindo eyes US$60 million from furniture exports to China

Shenzhen (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Furniture and Handicraft Industry Association (Asmindo) has set a target of furniture exports worth US$60 million to China this year, or an increase by ten percent if compared with those in the previous year, Asmindo chairman Ambar Tjahyono said here on Friday. "We have set a higher increase this year. We even hope, if possible, our furniture exports would reach US$100 million," Ambar Tjahyono, who were here to attend a furniture trade exhibition, said.

Indonesia lacks agribusiness players, minister says

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Agriculture Minister Anton Apriyantono said Indonesia lacked agribusiness players despite the fact that it is a big agrarian country. "The number of people willing to do agribusiness in Indonesia is even smaller than that of Singapore which has a large number of agribusiness investors," the minister said when he opened the "Agrinex Expo 2008" here on Friday.

Emaar signs $600 million Indonesian mega-project

Emaar Properties and the Bali Tourism Development Corporation (BTDC) have inked a joint venture deal to create a mega-tourism and mixed-use project on Lombok. The residential and resort community will sprawl across 1175 hectares, including the pristine Kuta and Tanjung beaches. Development of the US $600 million project is expected to begin in April, with plans to ensure the project is environment-friendly and fully integrated.
