A little - but you generally find linux systems, if they haven't become too bloated with crap, tend to run faster than windows anyway.I'm not sure, but could you run fruity loops under a vm install of windows KKC? That would run slower, but at least you would have directx which will never get into...

ahem. that is what "Wine" was made for. it's a linux Windows™ emulator.For a partial list of compatible applications click here (you'll have to register and login to get the complete list).having said that, however, i would not recommend ubuntu at this stage for anything but business...

Thought not, Pembantu or whatever its called is all well and good for net surfing, e---mail and word processing, perhaps even a spot of MP3 listening. I'll have to reluctantly stick with Windows though for the music production.
