Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The looming US economic recession will not affect Indonesia`s investment growth if the government issues policies favoring investment inflows, an official said. To increase the investment growth, the government must attract investors to engage in the manufacture of raw materials into semi-finished goods, Chairman of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) M Lutfi said on Tuesday.

Bali`s exports increase 9.8 percent to $504 million

Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA News) - Bali`s non-oil/non-gas exports last year rose 9.8 percent to US$504 million from a year earlier, a trade official said. "The foreign exchange earnings exceed the target of US$473.2 million for 2007," Head of the Foreign Trade Division at the Bali Industry and Trade Office Ni Wayan Kusumawathi said on Tuesday. Bali`s key export commodities included textiles, garments, canned fish, wooden craft, silver jewelry, coffee, vanilla, fresh and frozen tuna and seaweed.

Govt to extend food commodity fiscal incentives

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The government was expected to extend food commodity fiscal incentives to enhance the national food resilience, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, said here Tuesday. The government has given fiscal incentives in the form of value added tax on vegetable oils to maintain the prices of the commodities at low levels. The government is now planning incentives for soybean, corn and crude palm oil, she said.
