Indonesia mulls local flour subsidy - Industry official

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia's government may subsidise the price of wheat flour by paying a 10 percent value added tax for locally processed wheat in order to lower the price of local flour, an industry official said on Wednesday. Local flour prices have risen following a surge in the wheat price.

India consumers replace South Africa coal with Indonesian

London (ANTARA News) - Some Indian coal consumers which have taken predominantly South African coal during 2007 are switching to cheaper Indonesian material in tenders issued this week, Indian traders told Reuters. Hindustan Zinc, and Calcutta Electric have issued tenders for Indonesian coal for Q1 delivery. Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Paper Ltd (TNPL), which has always taken Indonesian coal in preference, has also tendered for Q1 coal. (*)

Toyota to import Indonesia-made vehicles for sale in Japan

Nagoya (ANTARA News/Asia Pulse) - Toyota Motor Corp. (TSE:7203) said Wednesday that it will begin importing compact commercial vehicles produced in Indonesia and selling them in Japan. Production of its fully remodelled Townace/Liteace vans and trucks, to be rolled out in Japan on Feb. 25, will be shifted entirely from domestic output to imports. Toyota subsidiary Daihatsu Motor Co. (TSE:7262) will assemble the vehicles in Indonesia and supply them on an OEM basis.
