Bill promises taxpayer protection
The House of Representatives and the government promised the bill for general taxation arrangements and procedures, which was agreed to by a special committee last week, would guarantee equality between taxpayers and the tax office. "The basic principle of the amendment to the 2000 law on general taxation arrangements and procedures is that we want to provide equality between taxpayers and tax officials," committee head Melchias Markus Mekeng told The Jakarta Post on Sunday.

Government Prepares CSR Legal Basis
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The government will create a legal basis for matters related to corporate social responsibility (CRS). According to Social Affairs Minister Bachtiar Chamsyah, there is a large possibility that the legal basis will be prepared this year. “We will discuss it with many parties this June,” he told Tempo last weekend. Bachtiar acknowledged that he did not yet know the form of legal basis that would be made. It may be a decree or a government regulation.

Shortage of skilled workers hits oil and gas companies
clearly the problem is not that they can't find them but there are many issues that stand in the way of finding these people. Some that spring to mind include: 1. BP Migas who always slow down any recruitment process 2. Indonesian companies (including the Multi-nationals here) not being quick enough to understand they have to compete with global demand when it comes to salary of Indonesian nationals 3.
