House passes govt regulation on Batam Free Trade Zone into law

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The House of Representatives passed Government Regulation in lieu of Law (Perpu) on a Free Trade Zone (FTZ) in Batam, Bintan and Karimun islands in Kepulauan Riau (Kepri) province into a law at a plenary meeting here Tuesday. The decision to pass the Perpu into law was endorsed by nine of the House`s 10 factions which attended the plenary session led by deputy House Speaker Soetardjo Soerjoguritno of the Indonesian Democratic Party-Struggle (PDIP).

Govt urges Indosat to hasten construction of fixed network

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Director General of Post and Telecommunications Basuki Yusuf Iskandar has urged Indosat to step up the construction a CDMA fixed and local network in Indonesia in securing telephone subscribers of network. Basuki made the remarks on the sidelines of a fast-breaking get together with executives of the Ministry of Communications and Information in Jakarta on Tuesday.

CPO Black Campaign Will Not Affect Production

However, she acknowledged that there is an influence from the moral aspect.
