GARUT, West Java: Garut regency has procured a four-hectare plot in Selagedang village, Kadungora, where elementary, junior and senior high schools of international standard are to be built. Regent Agus Supriadi said after touring the location over the weekend that the local administration had allocated a large amount of funds to recruit qualified teaching staff and purchase laboratory equipment to support learning activities at the schools.

The two women players agreed to a draw in their game, which stretched to 92 moves, the longest game among three matches.

Pertamina compensates residents over pollution The Jakarta Post Jakarta State oil company Pertamina paid Rp 135 million (US$16,071) in compensation to residents of Kramat subdistrict, Central Jakarta, for environmental damages caused by a suspected leak in the underground storage tank of a gasoline station on Jl. Kramat Raya. The leaked fuel has polluted water wells in houses in community units 5 and 7 in the subdistrict.
