Zoo adds three baby camels

SURABAYA, East Java: The Surabaya zoo has enriched its collection with the birth of three camels in the space of less than one month.

"Selly delivered Yono on June 12, Sheba delivered Andy on June 21 and Humpy delivered a baby, which has yet to be named, on June 30," said veterinarian Liang Pakpe to Antara yesterday.

With the coming of the baby camels, the Surabaya zoo, which was once the biggest in Southeast Asia, now has 10 dromedary, adding to its 368-animal collection.

For only Rp 2000, one can ride the camels around the zoo. (03)
