Zang Xihua to hold exhibition
Some 65 works of celebrated Chinese artist Zang Xihua will be displayed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel from Jan. 7 in what will be Jakarta's first painting exhibition for 2002.
The painter, who currently resides in Singapore after spending dozens of years in reform camps during China's Cultural Revolution, is noted for his art works such as the Aftermath of The Cultural Revolution and Martyrdom which portrays Chinese hero Zhao Yiman during his execution by the Japanese during its invasion of China.
The exhibition, ending Jan. 17, will display Zang's works from the past year.
Stephen Hill, the local director of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), will open the exhibition. --JP
