Youths go to Japan on apprenticeships
PALU, Central Sulawesi: Twenty-eight youths will be sent to Japan later this year to join a two-year apprenticeship program at a number of companies there.
Organized by the provincial office of the Ministry of Manpower in cooperation with the Japanese Association for International Human Resources Development, the youths were selected from among 256 candidates. They defeated the rest of the groups during tests of physical fitness and psychological examinations.
The youths will first be given a couple of months of training in Bogor and Jakarta in September. The apprentices are expected to obtain adequate experience to enable them to work in Japanese companies here once they return. (swe)
