Youths attack houses, kiosks

BOGOR (JP): A group of youths ran amok on Sunday evening at Kampung Narogong village in Cileungsi district, leaving at least five houses and four kiosks severely damaged.

A kiosk keeper, Endin, said on Monday the youths, who claimed to be residents of the neighboring village of Kampung Kuning, appeared at around 10.30 p.m. in search of a man named Hendrik, whom they said was living in Kampung Narogong.

"I told them I did not know anyone named Hendrik. But they were upset upon hearing my response and started to stone my kiosk and other buildings," Endin said, adding that the strangers were apparently drunk.

The houses pelted with stones belonged to Ahmad Budi, Fery, Supardi, Gunawan and Suraji.

Fery said the frightened residents called the police only after the gang of attackers left. (21)
