Your Letters is for opinions

Responding to Mr. Andrew Ashmore's letter (The Jakarta Post, Sept. 7, 1995) I have the following to say.

* Like it or not, my opinions are right, unless somebody can prove otherwise.

* I'd never said that soccer matches don't need the match atmosphere. I assert that being in Indonesia it would be more "logical" to broadcast programs directed to Indonesian people, in the Indonesian language.

* In a nutshell, might I give you two useful suggestions? When opening the Post's "Your Letters" column, check the letter's tail first, not the head. Should you read my name, "jump" straight to the next one.

With reference to Mr. Graeme St. John's letter (Sept. 6, 1995), I would like to say that very often computers are more intelligent than their operators. Mr. St. John's computer might not tolerate somebody eating succulent dishes of osso buco ("bucco" doesn't exist) near its keyboard. Better get ourselves out of them, also if we are eating Pasta Pronto (a further non- existent name).

Personally, I avoid it; it could be that, instead of having the dominant "P" (Peter Pan, Peter Piper, Peter Rabbit etc.), the porcelain flushes to the letter "J" (as Jabberer, Jackass, Juggler and so on).
