Young farmers to train in Japan
JAKARTA: Twenty-five young Indonesian farmers from 14 provinces will learn about modern agricultural management and techniques in Tokyo for eight months, Antara reported yesterday.
The farmers will be specially trained in horticulture and animal husbandry, Japan's Deputy Ambassador to Indonesia, Niro Hattori, said here Monday when meeting the farmers.
He said that 18 other young farmers would do an apprenticeship in Gunma province.
About 290 young Indonesian farmers had received agricultural training in Japan in the last 10 years in a program financed by Japan's farmers association, he said. (swe)
