Young business achievers

JAKARTA (JP): Publicly listed Bank NISP will sponsor the national selection for the World Young Business Achiever Award '98, an annual award for young executives with outstanding achievements worldwide, the bank said yesterday.

"We believe the competition will allow young Indonesian executives to show their achievements on the international stage," Bank NISP managing director Parwati Surjaudaja said.

The competition will give a lot of opportunities to Indonesian executives in making business contacts with overseas executives, she added.

She said the national selection would be held in Jakarta in the middle of this month, while the final selection would be held in Beijing, China, in April.

The World Young Business Achiever Award is being held by Worldcom Group Inc, an international public relations consultancy with over 100 branch offices worldwide.

The competition will involve executives from 30 countries, who are less than 40 years old and have worked in their businesses for over three years. (gis)
