Young adults' behavior
It happened in the Pondok Indah mall's cinema on the afternoon on Aug. 26, 1994 while watching the film Speed. There were about 15 young, white adults sitting in the front row about high school student age. During the show they kept making noises, making comments and laughing as if the film was meant only for themselves. Obviously, the other movie goers were quite disturbed by their behavior.
Moreover, after the film had ended, they scattered the remainders of their food and pieces of paper all over the floor. So there was rubbish all over and it was not nice to look at.
This behavior of the white youngsters reminded me of the Singapore government's decision to cane a white youngster for vandalism.
I think it is necessary to warn the foreign community here to teach their youngsters not to practice hooliganism and vandalism in this country. In Indonesia, behavior and deed are a reflection of culture. We would be most respectful if they could behave themselves.
