You may need that emergency diskette anytime

If we knew every time a disaster were to strike, we would feel secure. But, as it is, life is full of nice as well as nasty surprises.

Your PC can crash and refuse to boot up anytime. Sometimes, the only remedy is to back up all your data and reinstall everything from scratch.

The problem is, you cannot boot up from just any floppy diskette with a COMMAND.COM file in it and expect your PC's CD- ROM drive to function properly. You normally need the emergency diskette created with that PC.

To create this diskette, click on Start, Settings, Control Panel and Add/Remove Programs. When the dialog box appears, click on Startup Disk. Just follow the instructions. Keep your emergency diskette within easy reach.
