Yeti

In reference to my letter Yeti: No mystery at all (Aug. 8), one scientific word was unfortunately dropped. However, this is the keyword for the proper identification of that animal species which is considered to be the "snowman Yeti".

The scientific name of this Himalayan Langur, or Gray Kashmir Langur, is not only Presbytis entellus Pocock, but also Presbytis entellus ajax Pocock. This name is according to the classification in T.J. Roberts, The Mammals of Pakistan, London & Tonbridge, 1977. In Book of Indian Animals by S.H. Prater, Oxford University Press, Second impression, 1988, the same species is simply named Presbytis ajax (Pocock).
