Yemen photo expo at National Gallery
JAKARTA: The Yemen Embassy here will hold a photo exhibition at the National Gallery on Monday to mark the 40th anniversary of its Revolution Day.
The event will be attended by foreign diplomats, airline representatives, media workers, businessmen and the Yemeni community in Indonesia, Antara reported.
Yemen, one of the oldest centers of civilization in the near east, was part of the Minaean, Sabaean, and Himyarite kingdoms, which controlled the lucrative spice trade between the 12th century BC and the 6th century AD.
The country, once a part of the Ottoman empire, became a member of the Arab league in 1945 and the United Nations in 1947. --JP
