Yemen and Eritrea

I am commenting on Yemen, Eritrea sign peace deal (The Jakarta Post, May 22, 1996).

It is good to read once more that two countries have agreed to stop fighting and to peaceably solve their problems at the negotiation table. A small note in the newspaper, but optimism for a future peaceful world.

While the respective foreign ministries of the two friendly countries of Eritrea and Yemen discuss the many historical, legal and international aspects of this dispute, The Jakarta Post should not anticipate the outcome of these meetings and claim, that Eritrea captured the island "from Yemen."
