Yellow forces hit the road
BANDUNG: For many people here, the election means a smoother road in their neighborhood.
On a one-kilometer strip between Sukagalih and Pelesiran, dozens of people in yellow Golkar T-shirts are racing against the clock to lay asphalt.
The workers are filling pot holes and repaving the road, but officials have denied they are campaigning for Golkar.
"This project was planned long before the campaign began," a foreman said.
Locals seem unconcerned by whether the project has anything to do with the election.
"Let's enjoy the paved road and not be committed to voting for any contestant," a resident said. (ahy)
