Wushu body to name athletes next month
JAKARTA (JP): The Indonesian Wushu Association will name athletes, who will be groomed for the 13th Asian Games in Bangkok in December, on March 20 after its internal meeting here.
The association vice chairman, MB Hutagalung, said yesterday only gold-medalist-potential athletes, based on their achievements, would join the national squad.
Hutagalung temporary replaces chairman Antonius Haliman who does not have spare time to take care for the organization due to his business activities.
Although Antonius had submitted athletes names for the long- term training but Hutagalung said the association will update the names based on their achievements and "not based on like or dislike."
Hutagalung said the association will fully finance the long- term training with assistance from its sponsors and donators, but he declined to mention the figure. (yan)
