Wullems to help PSM Makassar

MAKASSAR, South Sulawesi (JP): Henk Wullems of the Netherlands, a former coach of the national soccer team, signed a contract with the PSM Makassar club on Saturday.

Williams, who also coached the Bandung Raya and Pelita Bakrie (now Pelita Solo) teams, and Dutch teams Vitesse Arhaen and Willem Tilburg, was paid US$30,000 to help PSM Makassar for four months improve the club's standing -- they are in second place in the Eastern Group.

Nurdin Halid, who is in charge of PSM Makassar, told The Jakarta Post in Makassar on Saturday that with the contract, it was expected Wullems could make PSM Makassar the winner of the Sixth Indonesian League, or winner of the Eastern Group.

"Wullems has already joined PSM Makassar as a technical advisor and would still have that position in the contract. Wullems will give advice to coach Syamsuddin Umar and assistants Assegaf and Saleh Bahang on strategy, and help improve the quality of the players," Nurdin said. (27)
