Wrong shipment

Our business partner in Singapore sent us a document via DHL couriers. The correct address was clearly printed on the envelope but the parcel didn't arrive. Then, one day we received a transport collect package from Australia, for which we had to pay the shipment fee. We were not allowed to open and inspect the contents of the package until we paid. Thinking the package may be important, we handed over the money.

That package from Australia contained the document our business partner had sent from Singapore. An Australian company, Lend Lease Investment Management, had been kind enough to redirect the document to us when it was erroneously delivered to their office. Fortunately the document was not urgent.

DHL must have forwarded the document from Singapore with an incorrect airway bill, hence its arrival in Australia. We paid DHL Rp 164,750 for a document that already belongs to us. I explained the situation to DHLs customer service department and requested our money be returned. Until now we have not had any response.

I still have the airway bills for the shipments, both from Singapore to Australia and from Australia to Jakarta, numbered 1099085993 and 1632095916 respectively. Looking forward to DHLs response.
