Writing contests for journalists
BEKASI, West Java (JP): To commemorate the 51st anniversary of Indonesia's independence and the 46th anniversary of Bekasi the local administration will organize a writing contest among journalists assigned to cover events in the town.
Eligible participants in the contests are those already registered with the information office of the local administration, Bekasi's secretary Maman S. Rachman said yesterday .
Other requirements are: * The entry should be an article written by the participant himself and not a straight news, * The entry should be at least four folios long and be typewritten. * The writing should be published in the respective newspapers or magazines for which the writers work between July 8 and July 25, 1996. * The participants can choose any of the two titles namely, "The Role of Pancasila Press in Helping Make Next Year's General Election in Bekasi a Success." and, "The Pesantren's (Islamic Boarding School) Support in Developing Bekasi."
Maman did not elaborate on whether any cash prizes will be given to the winners. (bas)
