Workshop on Japanese wrapping

The Japan Foundation will organize a two-day workshop on the wrapping art, one of its trademarks in art, in an attempt to promote Japanese culture in Indonesia.

The workshops will be chaired by prominent Japanese artist Kunio Ekiguchi, 64. Starting as a book illustrator for famous novelist Hideo Nakai, Ekiguchi is currently one of the leading figures in Japanese traditional handicrafts and art. He also wrote several books on wrapping, including Gift Wrapping: Creative Ideas from Japan , Kami no-Shugei (Paper Craft), and Musubikata no Hon (How to Tie Knots and Bows).

The first day of the workshop will be held tomorrow (June 26) at Kencana Room, Sari Pan Pacific Hotel, from 2 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.

The second day of the workshop (June 27) will be held in two sessions. The venue is the Japanese Cultural Center at Summitmas Tower, Jl. Sudirman, South Jakarta. The first session will be held from 2.p.m. to 4.30 p.m., while the second one from 6.30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
