Woolcott responds

I refer to my good friend Ambassador Sabam Siagian's letter of
April 3 about an error on page 128 in my book The Hot Seat:
Reflections on Diplomacy from Stalin's Death to the Bali
Bombings, relating to a report of a background briefing I had
given to Indonesian journalists in 1976 about former Australian
Prime Minister Fraser's visit to Indonesia which, it is stated in
my book, appeared in The Jakarta Post.

Sabam is correct. The Jakarta Post was not published in 1976.
The report must have been in another English language paper. I
regret the error, which is to be corrected in the second edition
of the book, which Harper Collins is publishing shortly.
