Women's group holds talks on rape

JAKARTA: In light of the widely-publicized cases of rapes against women, girls and underaged boys reported in a number of regions, the public has been invited to join in an open dialog on rape.

Kalyanamitra, a non-governmental organization which campaigns against violence, will hold the talks Tuesday afternoon at the Balai Krida building on Jl. Iskandarsyah No. 35 (near Blok M) in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The dialog will also involve noted lawyer Nursyahbani Katja sungkana, psychologist Sartono Mukadis, forensic expert Mun'im Idries and fashion model Kintan Umari. Admission is free.

Organizer Ita Fatia Nadia said participants would hopefully include students, parents, professionals and government officials. (anr)
