Woman stabbed to death

TANGERANG (JP): A housewife was found dead near a river in Pete village, Tigaraksa, Tuesday with stab wounds to her chest.

The victim's husband, Mursid, said his wife, Sukmana, 20, left their home to wash clothes in the river after eating a predawn meal.

Mursid said his four-year-old son went to the river later and found his mother dead.

Neighbors rushed to the scene after hearing the boy cry.

Sukmana's body was then sent to Tangerang General Hospital for a post mortem examination.

Tangerang police are still investigating the case.

In another case, a newborn boy was found dead Monday on Jl. Kampung Ledug, Jatiuwung district.

Mukri, a local resident, said the body was found wrapped in a black plastic bag at about 7:30 p.m.

The baby was believed to have just been born since its placenta was still attached his body, he said. (41/jun)
