Woman stabbed by nephew

JAKARTA (JP): A 46-year-old woman was fatally stabbed by her
husband's nephew at the couple's vehicle repair shop in South
Jakarta yesterday.

The suspect, identified as Tan Tjau, 32, was apprehended near
the scene soon after the murder by dozens of witnesses, including
visitors to the Puring Motor repair shop on Jl. Minangkabau.

Tjau's pocket knife, allegedly used to stab Yuli Kristiani,
was seized by the police.

Officers at the Setiabudi police subprecinct said that the
motive is still under investigation.

According to the victim's husband, Hadi Susanto, the suspect
had lived with his family for about four years.

Witnesses said that there was an intense argument between Tjau
and the victim before the suspect reportedly pulled out his knife
and plunged it into her stomach. (bsr)
