Woman jailed for hoarding fuel

TANGERANG: The Tangerang District Court on Wednesday sentenced
a woman to three-months in jail for hording diesel fuel in a
house located on Jl. K.H. Hasyim Ashari, Cipondoh subdistrict,
Tangerang, from November 2001 to January 2002.

Presiding judge Lucia Usmani said the 42-year-old defendant,
Nurmaulina Sihotang, was proven guilty of hording 8,250 liters of
diesel fuel.

"The defendant's action had caused difficulties to the
community who were in need of fuel last January," Usmani said.

Prosecutor Victor Silitonga had earlier requested the court to
sentence the defendant to one year imprisonment for violating
Article 53 of law No. 22/2000 on oil and gasoline business
permits. --JP
