Woman found dead beside baby

JAKARTA (JP): A woman was found dead next to a stillborn baby in her rented room in the Palmerah district of West Jakarta on Thursday.

Martha Nur, 29, from Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, was found bleeding on her bed next to her baby girl by her brother Marius.

"We did not hear anything from her room upstairs until Marius called for help," Sudarno said.

Marius had come to visit Martha that night, he said.

He said Martha had worked as a sales promotion girl but quit her job after she reached the later stages of pregnancy. She moved in three months ago and had no other visitors except for Marius, he said.

Her body was sent to the Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital and the Palmerah Police are investigating the case. (07)
