SURABAYA: A leader of Wiranto and running mate Salahuddin Wahid's
campaign team in East Java said a lack of funds was hampering
campaign efforts in the province.

Ridwan Hasyim, the deputy chairman of Wiranto's campaign team
in East Java, said his team submitted a proposal for Rp 50
billion in funds to organize campaigning in the province, but the
money never materialized.

A lack of money was hampering campaign efforts, reducing
Wiranto's chances in the province, he said. -- JP
