Will clown's picture be banned?

SURAKARTA: Outraged at the government ban on famous people's
pictures at rallies, a United Development Party (PPP) supporter
turned up at a rally over the weekend with a clown's picture.

The supporter captured great attention by carrying a poster of
Petruk, a Javanese shadow puppet clown.

"I don't know if they (government officials) will also ban
this picture," said the grinning man.

Many PPP and Indonesian Democratic Party (PDI) supporters have
braved the ban by displaying pictures of Megawati Soekarnoputri,
the ousted PDI leader. (38/pan)
