Wild oxen run amok in Sabrangan

JEMBER, East Java: Two wild oxen, from Watangan mountain, ran amok in Sabrangan subdistrict, Jember regency, on Wednesday, injuring two local residents.

The head of the Jember Natural Conservation Body (BKSDA), Adnan Aribowo, said that they oxen ran amok because their habitat in the Watangan mountain was hit by drought.

"They are desperately seeking food and water," said Adnan.

One of the oxen was captured by locals, while another one ran back to Watangan mountain. -- JP
