Wie Wie win Pro Stock of drag race

JAKARTA (JP): Wie Wie Rianto won on Sunday the Pro Stock category in the first stage of the national drag racing series at Sentul circuit, near Bogor.

Wie Wie, driving a Ford Capri, clocked 9.575 seconds and broke his record last year of 9.980 seconds.

Herry Agung (Nissan Fair Lady) was in second place with a time of 9.904 and Budi Tohir (Corvette Singray) in third with 10.583.

Wie Wie's closest rival Robert Paul, a Canadian consultant, failed his attempt to win the race. Paul only managed to clock 10.964.

The drag race also featured other categories, including sedan, jeep, VWs and minivan. (lnt)
