Why the difference in price?
On Nov. 4, 1997, I made a special trip to Hero supermarket to buy an iron and rice cooker that were promoted through the store's magic stamps. I, instead, ended up buying nothing. I was disappointed to see the sticker prices for these items in the store were different from those stated in the promotion, even though the promotion is valid until Nov. 17.
According to a Hero employee, the price increase was due to the increased rate of the U.S. dollar against the rupiah. If this is the case, why didn't Hero even bother to announce the increase in price compared to the special promotion. Or even better they should make promotions without a date limit so they could increase the price anytime they wanted.
What really upset me was the employee's attitude when he said: "If you don't want to buy it, we don't mind." Isn't the customer entitled to a little bit of respect?
