Why so rude?

Being a secretary is not always easy or pleasant, especially when you get an unpleasant remark from someone you barely know. This happened to me when I got a call from a marketing sales person from Hilton Mas Card on April 25, 1997. She was looking for my employer who was, at the time, not in the office. I told the caller that he was not in the office and, out of the blue, she got upset with my explanation and said a very unpleasant and rude word.

Who wouldn't be mad if some stranger scolded you. I was trying to find out what made her act that way and decided to call the manager. She promised to make the marketing person call and apologize, but I never received a call back from her. I know it wasn't Hilton's responsibility, it was human error. But at least a simple explanation or apology would make me feel better about their respected reputation.
