Why roaming charges?

It has been confirmed that Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabotabek) are free of cellular phone roaming charges. However I have received several charges for roaming costs within the area, especially Bogor. I live in Bogor and work in Jakarta.

In response to my many complaints to Satelindo, I have been advised that the case is highly technical. There is a possibility that when I have incoming calls in Bogor and the signal-catching receiver in Bogor is full, they are be transferred to another station automatically (very often the more distant Sindanglaya station, and not to the closer Jakarta station for instance). Hence the roaming charge is added.

As such "technical roaming charges" are caused by Satelindo's internal technical problems, any cost incurred arising thereof should not be charged to the customers.

Considering that the monthly subscription fee has been substantially increased during the last three years, it is about time, Satelindo, you seriously improved your system to avoid the above cases.

The Bogor roaming charge always appears in my monthly bill. And one outgoing call appeared with "Bogor-Medan" beside it, when it should have been "Bogor-Jakarta", because I made a call from Bogor to my husband while he was in Jakarta. He was using a Mentari card.

I hope Satelindo will be more professional and careful in handling their business in future.
