Why Anglophobic?

So I see Mr. Piero Ronci is at it again. Judging from his numerous letters to The Jakarta Post, it would appear to me that Mr. Ronci has two passions in life: soccer and English-bashing. He can so effortlessly indulge in both in one single letter. Not a small feat, mind you. But then again, all he has to do to achieve that is to talk about English soccer or soccer commentary for that matter.

I don't know the first thing about soccer, so I haven't the foggiest idea when he raves about it. However, I do notice that Mr. Ronci is very articulate in the English language. So why the Anglophobic behavior from someone who is obviously fond of the language?

Allow me to conclude by borrowing his Latin wisdom and ask Cui prodest?
