Who's stupid?
Gwynne Dyer is nothing if not consistent with his usual diatribe in his article A few obscenities after London bombing, (The Jakarta Post, July 30). For the few facts or opinions he may be correct, his credibility is completely lost with his persistent Yank bashing. He searches for and slants his data for this one specious agenda.
Yes, there is a connection between Washington's policies and being a preferred target: But this is the typically narrow-minded view he pathetically espouses. There is a bigger picture here and always has been for true historians. The terrorists do attack New York, London and Madrid now because they can.
They previously struck their own in local areas, and they have been doing so for generations. Read your history. They are well- financed now and can go global as can any corporation or organization; and, most recently, they are part of the many good people who have immigrated to "Western" nations. If it wasn't America or Israel, they would just find some other foul excuse to fulfill their agenda. Let's not delude ourselves with biased disinformation.
Keep in mind that these disaffected and demented terrorists should not be defended and their actions justified, as Dyer is wont to do in his misguided crusade to heap all the blame on the U.S.
I have always liked to think of myself as a liberal defending human and individual rights but having to defend common sense against rabid left wing balderdash makes me look like a conservative.
