Where to attend Idul Fitri prayers in the city tomorow
JAKARTA (JP): As usual, Idul Fitri prayers -- to be held at about 7 a.m. at the end of Ramadan fasting month -- will be held in large mosques, open fields and parking lots in and around the city.
Leaders of the Muhammadiyah Moslem organization, who will celebrate the Idul Fitri earlier today, have chosen the Jakarta Fairground in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, as the center of their Idul Fitri prayers.
"The sermon will be addressed by Muhammadiyah chief Amien Rais," Kahar, a member of Muhammadiyah in Menteng, told The Jakarta Post last night.
The organization has also prepared at least three other places in the city for its congregation, he said.
They include the open fields at Muhammadiyah School complexes on Jl. Gelong Baru in Tomang, West Jakarta, on Jl. Kramat Raya in Matraman, East Jakarta, and Jl. Raya Ciputat in Cirende, South Jakarta.
As other Moslems would perform the prayers tomorrow, the following is a list of major venues for the prayers along with the names of imams and preachers delivering Idul Fitri sermons:
Central Jakarta:
