What the president should do
I refer to the letter from Mark Ogilvie If I were president, I would... (The Jakarta Post, Sept. 24)
If I became president, I wouldn't do what Mark Ogilvie does. One thing's for sure, Mark Ogilvie would die of exhaustion within a week. The reason: Where does he get so many capable guys to understand his vision and carry out his orders.
If I became president, I would just do one thing: Increase the salaries of all teachers (and all professors) so they don't need to moonlight (for professors, they don't have to teach at more than one university). Then students would receive their education in full, from junior and senior high schools right through to university.
The result: Please wait for another 30 years, so that when these children grow up, they will solve all the problems Mark Ogilvie mentioned.
