West Java wins, but Bali shows spirit

JAKARTA: West Java took the gold medal in the first National
Cricket Championship held in Cibubur, East Jakarta, defeating
Bali, last Sunday..

As expected, the West Java team, with several experienced
expatriate bowlers, put pressure on the inexperienced Bali
batsmen, leaving them struggling at 4 for 18 at the end of the
9th over.

Bali, relatively new to cricket, showed to everyone that they
were not going to be overawed by the occasion and the opponent's
reputation. They demonstrated tremendous fighting spirit.

It was only a lack of experience that cost the Bali team the
