Well done Graf

It was really great tennis. It was very exciting to watch the world number one and co-number one play the U.S. Open final. This indeed was a historic match. It must have been very emotional encounter for both women. It was Graf who lifted the title. Graf is definitely one of the greatest women's tennis players in history. The prestige brought by her to her nation cannot be valued or counted.

I was shocked, however, by the comments of onlookers. How can anyone be so heartless? Should this be the price (her father is in prison on tax evasion charges in dealing with her US$16 million and is forbidden even to meet his family) for bringing such tremendous glory to her nation?

Graf, as said, does not have any fortunes outside Germany. There are many players who take citizenship in other countries to avoid stringent tax regulations. I am not defending the deeds of her father but as her fan I sincerely hope something good will come out of the tax evasion case.
